DragChamp Top 10 List
1 – Emmons Family

The Texas based Emmons family have been fixtures in the NHRA class racing scene since the 60’s. What began with their father, Harvey Emmons Jr. continues with brothers Harvey III (Speedy) and triplets Terry, Jerry, and Gary. Last season the Speedy and Jerry doubled up at the SpringNationals and this past weekend they did one better at the final SpringNationals at Houston Raceway. They both repeated their 2021 performance but pulled off the trifecta when Speedy’s son Landon raced to the Advanced Jr. track championship shootout win on Saturday. To say the Emmons family closed out the HRP SpringNationals with a bang would be an understatement. The entire family and their race team are a class act and are great ambassadors for their sponsors and the sport.
2 – Jon Maugans

Jon Maugans went off at the Hamlin Motorsports Six Shooter race in Dallas. Maugans won $5K off the bottom and $10K off the Top on Saturday! He added a semifinal finish in No-Box on Sunday to wrap up a wildly successful weekend. After his dominating performance, he can now focus on his Bottom Bulb Explosion race this weekend at Mid America Dragway. Jon teamed up with Luke Bogacki to put on the largest bottom bulb race in Kansas history. Check them out this weekend if you’re anywhere near Mid America Dragway.
3 – Tova Marshall

To’Baby grabs the three spot this week after winning $20K at the Six Shooter race at Xtreme Raceway in Dallas. Tova (pronounced Toe-Vay) picked up a win a week earlier at Pine Valley Raceway prior to his huge victory on Saturday night. Look for more big things from Tova as he’s only in his second season in a big car.
4 – Mike Badeaux Jr.

Mike Badeaux Jr. picked up the MVP award at the Six Shooter race after racing to two final round appearances on Saturday. He first collected a runner-up finish in Saturday’s $10K and then later in the evening fell to Tova Marshall in the $20K race. Although he didn’t turn on the final win light on Saturday, I’m pretty sure he turned on more than anyone else throughout the day.
5 – Michael Holcombe

Michael Holcombe locks in a Top 5 spot this week after an emotional and impressive victory at the NHRA SpringNationals. Leading up to his Super Comp win at the final SpringNationals in Houston, Holcombe had made the semifinals at his last three Super Comp appearances. In addition, he had a win and a semifinal appearance at the last bracket race at HRP just a few weeks back. Holcombe and his wife RayTay celebrated the emotion victory as it was his first NHRA national event win and it came at a track he’s raced at since 1994 when he was only 8 years old. To earn the Wally, Holcombe stopped reigning two-time NHRA Super Comp world champ Christopher Dodd in the final by throwing down an 8-pack!
6 – Lucas Walker

Lucas Walker could have easily grabbed the top spot again this week as he continues to turn on win lights at an unreal pace. Only a week removed from his $30K victory at the Spring Fling in Vegas, Walker won for the second straight weekend at Beacon Dragway. After winning in Vegas last weekend, Walker flew home on Saturday night, rolled in to Beacon on Sunday and parked his Mustang in the winners circle. This past weekend, he went to Beacon and enjoyed the same result after defeating Wesley Lockhart in the final round.
7 – Cliff Hall

Mr. Big Buck Baller himself Cliff Hall drove the red rocket to two wins at Sacramento last weekend. Hall swept the Pro class in his beautiful Ford to snag a Top 10 spot this week.
8 – Charlie Lockhart

Charlie Lockhart joins the Top 10 List this week after collecting a win and a runner-up at the Super Chevy Show in Memphis. Like his buddy Lucas Walker, Lockhart is a frequent flyer on the Top 10 List.
9 – Randy Rice

Randy Rice found himself in back-to-back $5K finals over the weekend. His first resulted in a victory at Music City Raceway on Saturday. He followed that with a runner-up finish on Sunday at Beech Bend to close out the weekend.
10 – Mike Buchwald

Mike Buchwald raced to two final round appearances on the same day at Capital City Motorsports Park to lock down the ten spot this week. Buchwald drove his dragster to the Top Dragster class win and added a runner-up finish in his Grand Am in the Top Sportsman class.
