BTE King of the Coast Season Begins Next Month

The 19th Annual BTE King of the Coast presented by David McMurtry Engines series is back again for 2023! Event #1 will be held February 17-19, 2023 at Gulfport Dragway.

GULFPORT, MS- Are you looking for a new series to run with great promoters, fantastic payouts, and good times? Well, look no further than the BTE King of the Coast Bracket Racing Series presented by David McMurtry Performance Engines! The series kicks off the year with Event #1 February 17-19, 2023 at Gulfport Dragway. The event will feature multiple classes including: Electronics, Footbrake, Sportsman, and Junior Dragsters.

Electronics

In Rick’s Powder Coating & Customs Electronics class, racers will compete for $5,000/Winner & $1,000/RU on both Saturday and Sunday. Buybacks will be available 1st or 2nd round and will be $75.

The weekend entry for both days of competition is only $200 and each single day is $120. Round money starts with 3rd round winners. Doorslammers and dragsters will be separated until 5th round and then combined.

Footbrake 

In Alliance Race Wear Footbrake, it will be $3,000/Winner & $700/RU on both Saturday and Sunday. The weekend entry will be $150 or $90 on each day. Buybacks will be available for 1st or 2nd round and will be $60. Round money also starts with 3rd round winners.

Sportsman

In Velocity Racing Carbs Sportsman class, racers will compete for $100 and $50 for runner-up based on 10 entries on both days. The purse is bumped to $200-to-win if there are 20 entries. The entry fee is FREE with a $15 spectator pass each day. There will also be a $10 buyback available 1st and 2nd round.

Junior Dragsters

Once again this year, there will be three Junior Dragster classes: Ages 7-9, 10-12, and 13-17. Ages 7-9 will be $200/winner & $50 to runner-up based on 6 entries. The entry fee is $40 per race and a $20 buyback is available for 1st and 2nd round.

In the 10-12 & 13-17 year old classes, it will be $800/Winner & $200/RU on both days with a $75 entry and $30 1st or 2nd round buyback.

Event Extras

Wild Cards

Wild Cards will be available for Electronics, Footbrake, and Sportsman. Racers can buy up to 3 wild cards at $10 for 1, $20 for 2 or $25 for 3. The winner will advance to round 4. The wild card winners can never be the wait-n-see bye at any time during the race, even if the remaining entries have already had a bye run.

Perfect Run Challenge

$500 will be awarded to the racer with the 1st perfect run on the weekend! If no winner, the payout increases at the next King of the Coast event.
