Champions Crowned at Independence in the Pines

Chad Sandlin doubled up in no-box to lead the weekend at Independence in the Pines at Pine Valley Raceway in Lufkin, Texas.

Racers spent the holiday weekend at Independence in the Pines, at Pine Valley Raceway, in hopes of finding the winners circle! Chad Sandlin led the weekend, winning No-Box on both Saturday and Sunday.

The event was Friday-Sunday. It was $7,500 to win in Super Pro, $5,000 to win in No-Box, and $1,000 to win in Junior Dragsters.

Independence in the Pines

Friday

In Super Pro, Todd Robinson was the last car standing and defeated Jordan Eperjesi in the final round.

In No Box, Kodie Bailey defeated Derrick Patton in the final round.

In the Junior Dragster final, Dawson Rogers wheeled his car to the winner’s circle after defeating Kayden Salter.

Saturday

In Super Pro, Koy Collier carried 2 entries to the semi-finals and had to run himself. He then defeated Daryl Patton in the final round to head to the winner’s circle.

In No Box, Chad Sandlin defeated Matthew Beckcom in the final round.

In the Junior Dragster final, Addyson Rogers defeated Ava Ryan.

Sunday

In Super Pro, Greg Roberts defeated Derrick Patton to pick up the big check.

In No Box, Chad Sandlin picked up his second win of the weekend after defeating Rylie Trumble in the final round.

In the Junior Dragster final, Tim Rivette defeated Dawson Rogers.

Megan Bohannon is a 26 year old Super Comp racer from Louisville, Kentucky. She races a 2015 American Dragster with a 648 Oakley Motorsports Engine. Growing up at the racetrack, drag racing is all she has known and never plans to give up on it.
