King of the Coast Event #3 Coming Up in June
Event #3 of the 9th Annual BTE King of the Coast presented by David McMurtry Engines series will be held June 9-11, 2023 at Gulfport Dragway.
GULFPORT, MS- Event #3 of the BTE King of the Coast Bracket Racing Series presented by David McMurtry Performance Engines is coming up on June 9-11, 2023 at Gulfport Dragway. The weekend event will feature multiple bracket racing classes including: Electronics, Footbrake, Sportsman, and Junior Dragsters.

Electronics
In Rick’s Powder Coating & Customs Electronics class, racers will compete for $5,000-to-win and $1,000 to runner-up on both Saturday and Sunday. Buybacks will be available 1st or 2nd round and will be $75.
The weekend entry for both days of competition is only $200 and each single day is $120. Round money starts with 3rd round winners. Doorslammers and dragsters will be separated until 5th round and then combined.


Footbrake
In Alliance Race Wear Footbrake, racers have the opportunity to race for $3,000-to-win & $700 to runner-up on both Saturday and Sunday. The weekend entry will be $150 or $90 on each day. Buybacks will be available for 1st or 2nd round and will be $60. Round money also starts with 3rd round winners.


Sportsman
In Velocity Racing Carbs Sportsman class, racers will compete for $100-to-win and $50 to runner-up based on 10 entries on both days. The purse is bumped to $200-to-win if there are 20 entries. The entry fee is FREE with a $15 spectator pass each day. There will also be a $10 buyback available 1st and 2nd round.

Junior Dragsters
There will be three Junior Dragster classes: Ages 7-9, 10-12, and 13-17. Ages 7-9 will be $200/winner & $50 to runner-up based on 6 entries. The entry fee is $40 per race and a $20 buyback is available for 1st and 2nd round.
In the 10-12 & 13-17 year old classes, it will be $800-to-win & $200 to runner-up on both days with a $75 entry and $30 1st or 2nd round buyback. Semi-finalists will earn $60 and if race goes 7 rounds, the round of 8 will earn $30.






Event Extras
Wild Cards
Wild Cards will be available for Electronics, Footbrake, and Sportsman. Racers can buy up to 3 wild cards at $10 for 1, $20 for 2 or $25 for 3. The winner will advance to round 4. The wild card winners can never be the wait-n-see bye at any time during the race, even if the remaining entries have already had a bye run.
David McMurtry Racing Engines Perfect Run Challenge presented by Three Oaks Garage
$500 will be awarded to the racer with the 1st perfect run on the weekend! If no winner, the payout increases at the next King of the Coast event.
