Lloyd Shines Bright at GALOT Triple Nickels

Allison Lloyd led the leader board at the Galot Motorsports Park Triple Nickels, picking up the Saturday night $10,000 win.

BENSON, NC – GALOT Motorsports Park kicked off their 2023 season this past weekend with the Triple Nickel $5K’s. The event attracted a near 400 entries – with two racers visiting the winners circle.

Rain came over the racetrack on Thursday and Friday – so the track made the decision to move Friday purse over Saturday and Sunday and making it $10,000 to win both days.

Abruzzi Transmissions and Converters Saturday

Allison Lloyd visited the winner’s circle on Saturday evening with an even deeper meaning than she has ever had. In just 7 months apart, Lloyd lost her fiancé, Sean Serra, in a car accident and her mother to cancer just a few short weeks ago. Lloyd dug deep and found herself in the winners circle after putting together a resume of impressive round wins all day long.

Lloyd defeated Kevin Brannon in the final round, putting together a .007 total package and making Brannon mathematically ineligible from the hit, who was .017.

Dynamite Trailers Sunday

Michael Jackson turned on the final win light of the weekend after defeating Howard Westbury in the final round. Jackson dialed 6.10 and Westbury dialed 5.68. Jackson took a .012 starting line advantage and made the 1/8 mile trip in 6.110 seconds. Westbury broke out trying to make up for lost time, running 5.665.

Megan Bohannon is a 25 year old Super Comp racer from Louisville, Kentucky. She races a 2015 American Dragster with a 648 Oakley Motorsports Engine. Growing up at the racetrack, drag racing is all she has known and never plans to give up on it.
