Thurman, Mase, Echols, Warren and Benda are winners at IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser and Fuel Tech at Music City Raceway.

The following is as written on the IHRA website.

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. — Shelby Thurman and Brady Mase found the right tune to headline the group of winners at Saturday’s IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering and Fuel Tech at Music City Raceway. Jordan Echols (Sportsman), Billy Warren Jr. (Motorcycle) and Bailey Benda (Junior Dragster) also raced to victories.

Super Pro (Box)

Thurman won the Super Pro (Box) final over Donnie Adkins on a holeshot. Driving a gray Chevy S-10 pickup, Thurman was .041 at the start compared to a .167 reaction time for Adkins. The winning package for Thurman included a 6.948-second run at 94.69 mph against a 6.91 dial-in. Adkins finished in 6.244 seconds at 105.16 mph against a 6.07 dial-in.

For her efforts, Thurman picked up the big $5,000 check, thanks to sponsor Quick Fuel Technology. Race winners also earned entry into the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals as long as they enter at least two other IHRA races and are IHRA members.

Pro (No-Box)

Mase drove his 1967 Camaro to the Pro (No Box) victory and a $1,000 big check thanks to ATM Innovation when final-round opponent Kevin Higdon was a little too quick at the start. Mase finished in 6.128 seconds at 89.29 mph, while Higdon scooted down the track in 8.187 seconds at 62.49 mph.

Echols was the winner in the Sportsman class sponsored by Texas Roadhouse. The Franklin, Tenn., driver in a 1972 Nova won on a foul as final-round opponent Todd Boone red-lighted. With the race in hand, Echols cruised down the track in 13.157 seconds. Boone’s foul took away a potential winning pass at 93.21 mph.

Two-wheel action saw Warren Jr. capture the Motorcycle class sponsored by Duke’s Wrecker Service. Warren finished with a 5.719-second run at 121.92 mph against a 5.72 dial-in with a .025 reaction time. Runner-up Cody Spires red-lighted in what would have been a 5.723-second pass at 117.84 mph against a 5.75 dial-in.

Junior Dragster

Benda had a tremendous start a .014 seconds to pair with a 9.074-second elapsed time at 72.10 mph to win the Junior Dragster final sponsored by Carl’s Collision Center. Jacob Poss finished runner-up with an 8.506-second pass at 72.67 mph. However, a red-light eliminated Poss in the final round.

The race champions weren’t the only Saturday winners.

Austin Fuqua with a .019 package took home the “Moser Money Round” $200 certificate in the Super Pro class.

Adalynn Atkinson was the recipient of the “Moser Money Round” $200 certificate for the Pro class with a .047 package.
