Cody Alvey Wins $10K at BMP Junior Jam

Blake Combs, Cody Alvey, Jeff Reed and Will Willard captured wins at the 2023 Brainerd Motorsports Park Junior Jam.

RINGGOLD, GA- Over 140 Junior Dragster racers flocked to Brainerd Motorsports Park on March 24-26, 2023 for the annual Junior Jam event. The Junior Dragster only event featured a FREE entry $1K kick-off race on Friday, $10K main event on Saturday, and a $5K on Sunday. In addition, there was also a Parent’s race on Saturday night. Winners of the $1K, $10K, and $5K all received a big check and a guitar trophy hand made by Kat Cross with Kustom Auto Trophies.

Friday $1K

Blake Combs from Bluff City, TN picked up the FREE entry Friday Kick-Off $1K race win over Mattie Grayson from Dunlap, TN.

Carson Emmett and Blake Crawford were the semi-finalists.

Saturday $10K

142 Junior Dragsters went to battle to determine who would take home the Saturday $10K payday. In the final round, Cody Alvey captured the win running a 7.974 on a 7.97 dial with a .055 reaction time over John Varner who ran a 8.895 on a 8.92 dial with a .055 reaction time.

The semi-finalists were Emma Wyman and Kane Kern.

Parent’s Race

Jeff Reed from Loveland, OH battled through a field of 21 parents to eventually meet up with Chris Lawson from Jasper, TN in the final round of the parent’s race. Jeff ran an 8.40 on an 8.34 dial with a .061 reaction time to overcome Chris’ 8.13 off an 8.07 dial and .073 reaction to claim the win.

Sunday $5K

Sunday’s $5K Junior Jam race saw Will Willard and Braden Peters meeting each other in the final round. In the final, the finish line margin was .0004 with Will Willard coming out on top to claim the win.

Saturdays $10K winner, Cody Alvey and 6-9 year old Age Group racer, Cohen Reed were the two semi-finalists.
