Troy Henderson is in this week’s DragChamp Jr Racer Spotlight. Learn all about this DragChamp Pro Member in his spotlight below!
ANDALUSIA, AL- Troy Henderson started racing Junior Dragsters just a year and a half ago and since then, he has proved to be a fierce competitor. He was first introduced to the sport of drag racing by his dad who raced back in the day but took about a 10 year break. His dad decided to get back in the driver’s seat and this time around, he brought Troy to the races with him. Troy fell in love with the sport right off the bat and eventually they purchased a Junior Dragster so he can race also.
Troy competes in the 7.90 class in the WDRA points series at a few different tracks and also follows the FTI Bracket Series, American Outlaw Index Series and King of the Coast Series. He mainly races at Atmore Dragway, Gulfport Dragway, North Florida Motorplex and Montgomery International Dragway.

Troy’s current Junior Dragster is a 2020 Halfscale that he purchased from Velicity Morris in January 2023. It has a ZR4 motor with a Shockwave Clutch built by S&S Motorsports onboard. In addition to his driving duties, Troy also helps his dad get his car prepped between rounds.
Outside of Racing
When Troy isn’t behind the wheel of his Junior Dragster, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and hanging out with his friends. He also loves to cheer on his favorite football team, the Georgia Bulldogs. His favorite movie is Where the Red Fern Grows and his favorite music artist is Country music star, Riley Green. One thing people may not realize about Troy is that he has only been racing for a year and a half.
