Bertozzi Doubles Up at Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals
Anthony Bertozzi captured a double-up in Top Dragster and Super Stock to be on the top of the leaderboard at the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals at Pomona.

POMONA, CA – Anthony Bertozzi picked up the NHRA Wally’s in both Super Stock and Top Dragster at the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals at Pomona, putting him on the top of the leaderboard with his double-up.
This was Bertozzi’s second double-up in his NHRA career, and his 29th and 30th NHRA National event Wally.

Joining him in the winner’s circle was Andrew Moeck (Comp), Kyle Rizzoli (Stock), Jessica Bogacki (SC), Marko Perivolaris (SG), and Chris Newman (TS).

2023 Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals
Competition Eliminator

Andrew Moeck won his first NHRA National event Wally after defeating Scott McClay in the final round. McClay had the starting line advantage, .031 to .067, but Moeck got to the stripe first by .003 to pick up the win.
Kurt Hugger was the semi-finalist.
Super Stock

Anthony Bertozzi defeated Len Schneider in the final round to pick up his 30th NHRA National event Wally. Bertozzi had the starting line advantage, .004 to .049, and ran a 8.983 at 140 mph on his 8.93 dial-in to head to the winners circle.
Semi-finalists were Brian Brossart and Steve Wann.
Stock Eliminator

Kyle Rizzoli took home his 12th NHRA National event Wally after defeating Brian McClanahan in the final round. Rizzoli had the starting line advantage, .002 to .019, and turned it into a win-light running a 10.265 on his 10.25 dial-in at 120 mph.
Jeff Adkinson and Chad Langdon were the semi-finalists.
Super Comp

Jessica Bogacki picked up her first NHRA National event Wally after defeating Logan Warr in the final round. Bogacki had the starting line advantage, .005 to .015, and turned on the win-light running an 8.928 at 172 mph on the 8.90 index.
Carol Krancich and Shannon Nelson were the semi-finalists.
Super Gas

Marko Perivolaris visited the winners circle after defeating Val Torres in the final round. Perivolaris had the starting line advantage, .004 to .020, and ran a 9.914 at 168 mph on the 9.90 index to pick up his sixth NHRA National event Wally.

Top Dragster

Anthony Bertozzi defeated Andy Spiegel in the final round to take home his second trophy of the weekend, his second ever double-up. Just a coin flip apart on the tree, Bertozzi got to the stripe first by .011 to take home the trophy running a 6.664 at 181 mph on his 6.63 dial-in.
Taylor Vetter and John Richardson were the semi-finalists
Top Sportsman

Chris Newman defeated Lance Abbott in the final round to take home his second NHRA National event Wally. Abbott had the starting line advantage, .012 to .030, but Newman got to the stripe first by .006 running dead on his 6.65 dial-in with a 3 to pick up the trophy.
Robert Strohm was the semi-finalist.
