Elrod, Sackman Win NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals
Jacob Elrod and Matt Sackman led the leaderboard at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway.
BRISTOL, TN – Jacob Elrod and Matt Sackman visited the winners circle at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway. Sackman picked up his first NHRA National event victory.

Joining them in the winner’s circle was Monty Bogan (SS), Jeff Strickland (STK), and Jeremy Mason (SC).

2023 NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals
Super Stock

Monty Bogan took home his sixth NHRA National event Wally after defeating Dan Fletcher in the final round. Bogan had the starting line advantage, .002 to .054, and turned it into a win-light running a 9.240 at 139 mph on his 9.22 dial-in.
Johnnie Raikes was the semi-finalist.
Stock Eliminator

Jeff Strickland defeated Jimmy Hidalgo in the final round to pick up his 21st NHRA National event win. Hidalgo had the starting line advantage, .013 to .026, but lost on a double breakout. Strickland ran a 9.297 at 143 mph on his 9.31 dial-in.
Steve Foley was the semi-finalist.
Super Comp

Jeremy Mason took home his sixth NHRA National event Wally after defeating Michael Holcombe in the final round. Mason had the starting line advantage, .014 to .020, and turned it into a win-light running a 8.922 at 167 to get there first by .0006
Derek Denney was the semi-finalist.
Super Gas

Jacob Elrod defeated John Labbous in the final round to take home his fourth NHRA National event Wally. Both drivers were .003 up front, but Labbous had problems down track causing him to lift. Elrod coasted through the stripe at 9.987 at 150 mph.
Dawson Pauley and Rick Swank were the semi-finalists.
Top Dragster

Matt Sackman picked up his first NHRA National event Wally after defeating Aldan Miller in the final round. Sackman was .012 up front and ran a 6.187 at 217 mph on his 6.17 dial-in to turn on a win-light.
Carson Brown and Vaughn Cauffield were the semi-finalists.
