DragChamp Top 10 List

1 – Ellis Buth

Ellis Buth grabs the #1 spot this week after driving his Danger Ranger to two wins at the the NHRA Division 3 Lucas Oil series event in Bowling Green. Buth made history by becoming the first Stock Eliminator racer to win a race in the W/SA class. If you’re not familiar with the Stock class, W/SA cars usually run in the high 15 to low 16-second zone in the quarter. This puts them at a huge disadvantage against their 8, 9, and 10-second competitors. Buth stood tall with his little pickup winning the Stock Shootout and then the LODRS race on Monday for a 10-0 record against a talent-laden field.

2 – John Labbous Jr.

Lil John races to the #2 spot after winning twice in New England this past weekend. Labbous won Super Gas in the Lucas Oil Series race and finished the weekend with a Super Comp victory at the New England national event. His double comes on the heels of his Super Gas victory earlier this month at Maple Grove.

3 – Brad Burton

Former NHRA National Champ Brad Burton almost pulled off the hat trick at the D6 LODRS race at Yellowstone. After a couple of runner-ups in the first leg of the doubleheader, Burton finished the job in Super Stock on Sunday. Back-to-back Super Stock finals and a Stock runner-up placed him in the three spot this week.

4 – Steve Collier

DragChamp Pro member Steve Collier raced to two No-Box finals and a $10K win at the Moser Doorcar Duel. After a runner-up in No-Box on Saturday, Collier finished the job on Sunday winning the No-Box class and then moving into the Top Bulb class where he took home the $10K payday.

5 – Michael Crass

Recently Michael Crass was on a 7-week final round streak before he blew an engine. A couple weeks later he was back in form when he ran himself in the No-Box final at Clarksville to make another Top 10 showing.

6 – Joey Moore

DragChamp Pro member Joey Moore grabs the sixth spot this week after running himself in the Working Overtime Shootout Saturday night. Moore cashed for $7K for his performance at the Doorcar Duel.

7 – Derrick Patton

Derrick Patton continued his tear across Texas and Louisiana this season with another double win performance. Competing at Pine Valley Raceway, Patton drove to wins in Super Pro and No-Box to add to his already impressive 2023 resume. His dad won the track championship in both Super Pro and No-Box and his brother won the NHRA D3 LODRS race. I’d say it was a pretty good weekend for the Patton family.

8 – Scott Sanders

After returning from a bad car wreck recently, Scott Sanders has been on a roll making four finals in three weeks. Even though he’s having to let go with his left hand now (he’s right handed), Sanders has won three straight including a $10K!

9 – Christopher Takacs

Christopher Takacs dominated the No-Box field at Rock Falls this past weekend after making three consecutive finals. He was runner-up Friday, won on Saturday, and added another runner-up on Sunday to post a Top 10 showing.

10 – Kris Whitfield

Kris Whitfield, a DragChamp Pro member and sponsor, found himself in two winners circles last weekend at the NHRA D6 LODRS race at Yellowstone. The 20X track champion, put his GO FAST dragster in the winners circle in the Super Comp Shootout and the LODRS race to cap off a great weekend.

10 – Samantha Hamilton

Samantha Hamilton drove to two finals this weekend at Rock Falls. After earning her first big victory on Saturday, Hamilton drove to the finals again on Sunday where she would settle for runner-up honors.

Shout Outs

Josh Phelps raced to 4 straight finals winning three times and capturing a WDRA championship.

Andrew Goss won Super Pro at Mo-Kan, was runner-up in Sportsman, and made it to the quarters in No-Box.

Justin Picillo won back-to-back NHRA Division 1 Lucas Oil Series races at Maple Grove and New England Dragway.

Iggie Boicesco won back-to-back races winning SG at the Mid Atlantic race two weeks ago and the New England Nationals this past weekend.

Jake Howard raced to three finals in 7 days winning a track championship and a Wally in the process.

Jason Kenny made the finals in Super Gas and Super Comp at the New England Nationals this past weekend in Epping.
