King of the Coast Event #6 Set for Nov. 1-3, 2024

Event #6 of the 20th Annual BTE King of the Coast Bracket Racing Series is coming up on November 1-3, 2024 at Gulfport Dragway.

GULFPORT, MS- Event #6 of the BTE King of the Coast Bracket Racing Series, presented by David McMurtry Performance Engines, is set for an action-packed weekend at Gulfport Dragway. Racers will go to battle in multiple classes, including $5,000-to-win Electronics, $3,000-to-win Footbrake, Sportsman, and Junior Dragsters.

This event will also feature a Thanksgiving Food Drive, where racers can donate one or more non-perishable food items for a chance to win a free weekend entry!

After Event #6, the series will conclude with its grand finale, Event #7, on December 6-8, 2024.

Electronics

In Rick’s Powder Coating & Customs Electronics class, racers will compete for $5,000-to-win and $1,000 to runner-up on both Saturday and Sunday. Buybacks will be available 1st or 2nd round and will be $75. 

The weekend entry for both days of competition is $200 and each single day is $120. Round money starts with 3rd round winners. Doorslammers and dragsters will be separated until 5th round and then combined. Winner and runner-up payouts based on 75 entries. Remaining purse is guaranteed.

Footbrake 

In Alliance Race Wear Footbrake, racers have the opportunity to compete for $3,000-to-win and $700 to runner-up on both Saturday and Sunday. The weekend entry will be $150 or you can get a single day entry for $90. Buybacks will be available for 1st or 2nd round and will be $60. Round money also starts with 3rd round winners. Win and runner-up payouts are based on 50 entries. Remaining purses are guaranteed.

Sportsman

In the Velocity Racing Carbs Sportsman class, racers will compete for $100-to-win and $50 to runner-up based on 10 entries on both days. The purse is bumped to $200-to-win if there are 20 entries! The entry fee is FREE with a $15 spectator pass each day. There will also be a $10 buyback available 1st or 2nd round.

Junior Specialties/ S&W Powersports Junior Dragsters Presented by Bone Shaker Motorsports

There will be three Junior Dragster classes: Ages 7-9, 10-12, and 13-17. Ages 7-9 will be $200-to-win & $50 to runner-up based on 6 entries. The entry fee is $40 per race and a $20 buyback is available for 1st and 2nd round. 

In the 10-12 & 13-17 year old classes, it will be $800-to-win & $200 to runner-up on both days with a $75 entry and $30 1st or 2nd round buyback. Semi-finalists will earn $60 and if the race goes 7 rounds, the round of 8 will earn $30. Payouts are based on 15 entries.

Event Extras

Test n’ Tune

A Test n’ Tune session will be available on Friday from 6-9pm and will cost participants $25.

Wild Cards

Wild Cards will be available for Electronics, Footbrake, and Sportsman. Racers can buy up to 3 wild cards at $10 for 1, $20 for 2 or $25 for 3. The winner will advance to round 4. The wild card winners can never be the wait-n-see bye at any time during the race, even if the remaining entries have already had a bye run. 

David McMurtry Racing Engines Perfect Run Challenge presented by Three Oaks Garage

$500 will be awarded to the racer with the first perfect run on the weekend! If no winner, the payout increases at the next King of the Coast event.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Event #7 will feature a Thanksgiving Food Drive where racers can donate a non-perishable food item(s) and qualify for a drawing to win a weekend entry!
