Payton Filson cashes in at Labor Day Bracket Nationals at Kil-Kare

Payton Filson visited the winners circle on Sunday to complete the Labor Day Bracket Nationals at Kil-Kare Raceway.

XENIA, OH – Racers traveled to Kil-Kare Raceway this past weekend to spend their holiday weekend trying to race to the top of the ladder to take home a big check. The weekend was full of big money and lots of chances to get to the winners circle.

The weekend consisted of a Friday $5k to win, a Saturday $7k to win, and a Sunday $10k to win. Juniors and Bikes ran on Saturday and Sunday also.

Kil-Kare Labor Day Weekend Nationals

Friday

JR Lockhart was victorious over Wayne Adams in Friday’s $5k.

Saturday

Dean Howard defeated Evan Kirk to take home the Saturday $7k.

Garreth Shepherd took home the trophy in Bikes.

Braxton Vance defeated Alli Coterel in junior dragsters.

Sunday

Payton Filson cashed out big and defeated Joe Hoskins in the final round to win the Sunday $10k.

Justin Kendal defeated Lucas Sowers in the junior dragster final round.

Gavin Perone took home the trophy in Bikes over Jeremy England.

An avid racer herself, Megan Strassweg, 28, sees her two worlds collide with DragChamp – journalism and drag racing. Megan resides in Evansville, IN, and she pilots a 2015 American Dragster in the NHRA North Central Division 3 Super Comp series, along with some local bracket racing on the side. Her passion for racing began early, having grown up at the racetrack, and she remains committed to the sport.
