Racers Cash In at GABR Stars & Stripes New Year’s Spectacular

Ten drivers claimed wins at the Great American Bracket Races SDPC Raceshop Stars and Stripes New Year’s Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering at Gulfport Dragway.

GULFPORT, MS- What better way to bring in the New Year than some big money bracket racing! The Great American Bracket Races SDPC Raceshop Racing Engines Stars and Stripes New Year’s Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering took place December 27-30, 2023 at Gulfport Dragway. The four-day event featured a $2,500 Top Bulb and Bottom Bulb Gamblers races, triple Top Bulb $10Ks, triple Bottom Bulb $7Ks, and two-days of Jr. Dragster racing.

Wednesday Results

Top Bulb $2,500 Gamblers

In Wednesday’s $2,500-to-win Top Bulb Gamblers race, Lance Town captured the final round win over Jim Blake.

Billy Fuller Jr. was the lone semi-finalist.

Bottom Bulb $2,500 Gamblers

Graeme Rufenacht picked up the Wednesday Bottom Bulb $2,500 Gamblers race win over Lucas Walker.

The semi-finalist was Michael Lewis.

Thursday Results

Top Bulb $10K

In Thursday’s Top Bulb $10K, David Hammons claimed the final round win over Jim Blake.

Adam Russell and John Beecher were the semi-finalists.

Bottom Bulb $7K

Josh Green drove to victory in Thursday’s Bottom Bulb $7K earning the win over Luke Bogacki in the final round.

The lone semi-finalist was Mike Barnett.

Friday Results

Top Bulb $10K

Slate Cummings captured the Friday Top Bulb $10K win over runner-up, Bug McCarty.

Richard Hamontree and Lane Comeaux were the semi-finalists.

Bottom Bulb $7K

In Friday’s Bottom Bulb $7K final round, Jamie Martin claimed the win over Bug McCarty. Yes, you read that right, Bug was in both Top Bulb and Bottom Bulb finals on Friday.

Josh Green and Johnathan Booth were the semi-finalists.

Jr Dragster

Kane Kern defeated Kyler Morel in Friday’s final round to earn the first Jr. Dragster win of the event.

Saturday Results

Top Bulb $10K

Dylan Rallinson picked up the Saturday Top Bulb $10K final round win over J.R. Barclay.

The lone semi-finalist was AJ Ashe.

Bottom Bulb $7K

In Saturday’s Bottom Bulb $7K, Opie Pearce captured the win over Kayden Hayman.

The semi-finalists were Luke Bogacki and Charlie Lockhart.

Jr Dragster

In Saturday’s Jr. Dragster class, Jase Worthen picked up the victory over Luke Labarre Jr.
