SUMNER, WA- Landon Huber first got behind the wheel of a Junior Dragster last year, following in his family’s footsteps. He earned his Junior Dragster license in April 2023 at Bremerton Raceway. Currently, he competes in the Junior Thunder class which consists of age groups made up of 7-9 year olds or 7-12 year olds dependent on the race track. The closest tracks to Landon are Pacific Raceways, Bremerton Raceway, and Woodburn Dragstrip. But this past year, they also raced at Yellowstone Dragstrip, Madras Dragstrip, Renegade Raceway, Samoa Dragstrip, and Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Growing up in a family passionate about racing, Landon enjoys spending time at the racetrack with his mom, dad, both papas, and his sister who all drag race themselves. Landon’s sister Peyton, also races a Junior Dragster alongside him.

His Race Car
Landon’s current Junior Dragster is a 2008 RPC equipped with a Lo206 11.90 motor. His Papa purchased this Junior Dragster for him at the end of 2022 from Texas. Landon’s responsibilities for his race car include loading and unloading, cleaning, fueling, managing tire pressure and helping watch his baby brother, Holden. Holden’s nickname is ‘Baby Zilla’ at the racetrack.
Outside of Racing
When Landon isn’t behind the wheel of his Junior Dragster, he enjoys spending time with his friends, riding quads, playing video games, and swimming. His favorite video games to play are Roblox and Fortnite. He also enjoys going to the Suns Basketball games with his Papa. His favorite things to eat are McDonalds, Starbucks, and Reeses, and his favorite music artist is Morgan Wallen. When having a chill day, Landon likes to watch old Disney movies with his mom.

Which win are you most proud of?
I am most proud of not just winning my first Wally, but winning my first two in the same weekend at Yellowstone Dragstrip.
What’s on your bucket list, future goals, what do you hope to achieve?
Race a Top Fuel Dragster or funny car and have more Wally’s than anyone in my family.
Who has made the biggest impact on your racing success?
My family, friends and sponsors (Excel Drywall, Inc, Enumclaw Powersports, Foundation Building Materials and GTS Interior Supply).
Who do you look up to in the sport?
My mom, dad and Jeff Diehl.
Who do you hate to see in the other lane, and why?
I love to see my sister so I can beat her but I hope it’s the final round because I want us both to go as far as possible. I hate to see my friends because I want us both to win.
What’s the hardest part of drag racing?
Consistently getting a good reaction time and dialing the car.
What do you enjoy most about racing?
Spending time with my family and friends, traveling and beating my sister.
Do you love to win or hate to lose?
Both. I love winning, who doesn’t? But each time I lose it teaches me something new.
Which are you better at the starting line or the finish line?
Starting line, but am improving and learning at the finish line.
Name one thing most people don’t know about you?
People don’t believe that I race and go over 50mph

What advice would you give to young aspiring racers?
Never give up!
