Biermann, Deffenbaugh Win Route 66 NHRA Nationals

Julie Biermann and Dalton Deffenbaugh visited the winner’s circle at the Route 66 NHRA Nationals at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL.

JOLIET, IL – Julie Biermann and Dalton Deffenbaugh led the winners at the Route 66 NHRA Nationals, picking up the NHRA Wally in Stock Eliminator and Super Street. Both picked up their first NHRA National event Wally’s, making for a big weekend for them and their families!

Joining them in the winner’s circle was James Ronzello (SS), Rick Hughes (SC), Jeremy Mason (SG), and Larry Demers (TS).

Gerber Collision and Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals

Super Stock

James Ronzello took home his third NHRA National event Wally after defeating David Dupps in the final round. Dupps had the starting line advantage, .044 to .051, but broke out at the stripe. Ronzello ran a 9.291 at 144 mph on his 9.27 dial-in.

Fred Allen was the lone semi-finalist.

Stock Eliminator

Julie Biermann took home her first NHRA National event Wally in her first final round after defeating Johnny Diekema in the final round. Diekema had the slight starting line advantage, .062 to .078, but had issues down track to hand the win over to Biermann. She ran a 10.917 at 107 mph on her 10.83 dial-in.

Travis Buth and Dan Fletcher were the semi-finalists.

Super Comp

Rick Hughes picked up the NHRA National event Wally after defeating Brad Cole in the final round. Hughes had the starting line advantage, .014 to .025, and ran a 8.897 at 176 mph on the 8.90 index to pick up his second NHRA Wally.

Devin Isenhower and Sparky Inman were the semi-finalists.

Super Gas

Jeremy Mason visited the winners circle after defeating Steve Hoyt in the final round to pick up his seventh career win. Mason had the starting line advantage, .017 to .032, and turned it into a win light running a 9.913 at 152 mph on his 9.90 index.

Pat Debottis and Bo Butner were the semi-finalists.

Super Street

Dalton Deffenbaugh visited the winners circle for the first time after defeating Carl Dresback in the final round to pick up his first career win. Deffenbaugh had the starting line advantage, .014 to .019, and turned it into a win light running a 10.926 at 141 mph on his 10.90 index.

Mark Smith was the lone semi-finalist.

Top Sportsman

Larry Demers defeated Zach Sackman in the final round to take home his fifth NHRA National event Wally. Demers was .030 up front, with the starting line advantage, and ran a 6.903 at 193 mph on his 6.89 dial-in for the trophy.

Allen Firestone and Mark McDonald were the semi-finalists.

Megan Bohannon is a 26 year old Super Comp racer from Louisville, Kentucky. She races a 2015 American Dragster with a 648 Oakley Motorsports Engine. Growing up at the racetrack, drag racing is all she has known and never plans to give up on it.
