November 4, 2024 – Don Thomas makes NHRA history after winning the 2024 Rooftec Competition Eliminator Bonus Fund championship. Thomas took home a record-setting payday of $250,000 after clinching the title at the Ford Performance NHRA Nationals at The Strip in Las Vegas. In the first round, Thomas drove his B/Econo Dragster past Brian Browell to clinch the ten-race series championship.

After securing the championship, Thomas admitted the championship was overwhelming and that it hadn’t set in yet. He also gave credit to Rodger Brogdon, owner of Rooftec, for his dedication to the NHRA Competition Eliminator class. Brogdon has continued to expand the series which has brought renewed interest and competition to the highly technical class. The 2024 Rooftec Competition Eliminator Bonus Fund provided racers with a $750,000 ten-race series.
This season, Thomas became the first driver in series history to win multiple events in one year, with victories at the Texas Motorplex May and October. Rodger Brogdon, the fund’s organizer, praised the program’s growth and acknowledged the support from key partners like the Hudson family and CompetitionPlus.com in elevating Competition Eliminator racing.
