Lisa, Handras win NHRA New England Nationals

Joe Lisa and Michael Handras visited the winner’s circle at the NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway in Epping, NH.

EPPING, NH – Joe Lisa and Michael Handras led the winners at the NHRA New England Nationals, picking up the NHRA Wally in Super Stock and Super Comp.

Joining them in the winner’s circle was Don Pires (STK), Hank Smith (SG), Brian Sawyer (SST), Matthew Harper (TS), and Scott Douglas (TD).

NHRA New England Nationals

Super Stock

Joe Lisa took home his third NHRA National event Wally after defeating Joe Santangelo in the final round. Santangelo was -.001 at the hit to hand the win over to Lisa, who was .013 and ran a 9.874 at 127 mph for the trophy.

Leonard Williams and Philip Lankford were the semi-finalists.

Stock Eliminator

Don Pires took home his second NHRA National event Wally after defeating Ralph Porpora in the final round. Pires had the slight starting line advantage, .036 to .127, and never trailed back for the win. He ran a 11.341 at 105 mph on his 11.29 dial-in.

Jim Boudreau and Timothy Stickles were the semi-finalists.

Super Comp

Michael Handras picked up the NHRA National event Wally after defeating Stephen Logan in the final round. Handras had the starting line advantage, .036 to .049, and ran a 8.912 at 174 mph on the 8.90 index to pick up his second NHRA Wally.

Jason Kenny were the semi-finalist.

Super Gas

Hank Smith visited the winners circle after defeating Jason Kenny in the final round to pick up his first career win. Smith had the starting line advantage, .016 to .032, and turned it into a win light running a 9.926 at 169 mph on his 9.90 index.

Michael Handras and Richard Stroud were the semi-finalists.

Super Street

Brian Sawyer visited the winners circle for the fourth time after defeating Ray Butler in the final round. Butler had the starting line advantage, .012 to .022, but gave the stripe to Sawyer to give him the win. Sawyer ran a 10.936 at 141 mph on the 10.90 index.

Paul Lorenti was the lone semi-finalist.

Top Sportsman

Matthew Harper defeated Richard Lachapelle in the final round to take home his third NHRA National event Wally. Harper was .025 up front, with the starting line advantage, and ran a 7.646 at 175 mph on his 7.60 dial-in for the trophy.

Daniel Christopher was the lone semi-finalist.

Top Dragster

Scott Douglas defeated Paul Neal in the final round to take home his first NHRA National event Wally. Douglas was .039 up front and ran a 6.808 at 195mph on his 6.80 dial-in for the trophy.

Nick Meloni and Nick Willard were the semi-finalists.

Megan Bohannon is a 26 year old Super Comp racer from Louisville, Kentucky. She races a 2015 American Dragster with a 648 Oakley Motorsports Engine. Growing up at the racetrack, drag racing is all she has known and never plans to give up on it. Megan works with TB Promotions in promoting their races and keeping entries straight, as well as keeping their social media pages updated.
