12/11/24 – Welcome to the 2024 DragChamp NHRA Class Racer of the Year Top 10 List presented by Laris Motorsports Insurance. We ranked the best class racers of the year from the following NHRA classes: Competition Eliminator, Super Stock, and Stock Eliminator. DragChamp Top 10 List

1 – Jimmy Hidalgo Jr.

Jimmy Hidalgo is your 2024 Class Racer of the Year! Hidalgo earned the title after winning the Super Stock world championship while also finishing second in the Stock standings. He won 8 times in 11 finals on the season between the two classes along with winning the Division 4 championship in Stock and Super Stock. At one point of the season, Cooter was in 5 straight Stock Eliminator finals winning 4 of 5.

2 – Joe Sorensen

Joe Sorensen raced to his first world championship this year after winning the Stock Eliminator crown by one point over Jimmy Hidalgo. Sorensen also won the Division 6 championship on the strength of 3 wins in 6 finals on the year.

3 – Cody Lane

Cody Lane grabs the #3 spot after winning the Comp Eliminator world championship. Lane, the Division 6 champion, won 4 times in 8 finals to lockup his first world championship.

4 – Don Thomas

Don Thomas earned a spot in the Class Racer Top 10 List after winning the Comp Eliminator Bonus Fund points championship. Thomas took home a cool $250,000 along with the series title.

5 – Monty Bogan

Monty Bogan had a successful season competing in Comp Eliminator and Super Stock. He won the Division 2 championship in both classes and finished in the Top 10 nationally in both classes (#5 in Comp, #9 in Super Stock). Bogan won 3 of 4 finals in Comp and added 3 runner-ups in Super Stock.

6 – Ryan Warter

Ryan Warter made a run at the Comp championship on the strength of 5 wins in 6 finals on the season. This propelled him to second place finishes nationally and in Division 6.

7 – Ryan Mclanahan

Ryan Mclanahan sits in the lucky #7 spot after finishing 2nd nationally in Super Stock. Mclanahan won 3 times in 4 finals and won the Division 7 Super Stock championship.

8 – Byron Worner

Byron Worner capped off a great season which saw him finish #3 nationally in Super Stock. He went undefeated in 4 final round appearances which helped him secure the Division 1 championship.

9 – Cody Phillips

Cody Phillips secured a Top 10 spot after finishing #3 nationally in Stock Eliminator. Phillips won three times in three finals and finished 2nd in the Division 2 standings.

10 – Brad Burton

Former world champion Brad Burton closes out the Class Racer Top 10 List in the 10th spot after finishing 6th in Super Stock and 12th in Stock nationally. Burton won three times in 4 finals between and finished in the Top 5 in both classes in the Division 6 standings.
