DragChamp Pro member Breyden Scholtz and his 2021 Mike Bos Jr. Dragster win the January 2025 Car of the Month contest

February 5, 2025 – Breyden Scholtz and his 2021 Mike Bos Jr. Dragster are your January Car of the Month winner. Scholtz, a rising star in junior drag racing, has built an impressive résumé over the years, and this latest recognition is another testament to his dedication. Scholtz’s Mike Bos Jr. dragster sports a striking wrap designed by Fineline Signs and Graphics out of Colorado. The winning entry is powered by a Nic Woods 3.75 ZR4 engine, Nic Woods 42mm carburetor and a Clean Shot intake. Ryan Saum of S&S Motorsports tuned the engine, clutch, and carb combination which propelled Breyden to a $20,000 victory at the 2024 Jr. Dragster Christmas on the Coast. The race winning entry sports Mickey Thompson tires on all four corners.

Scholtz’s path in drag racing started at the age of 8, competing primarily at Bandimere Speedway and various tracks across Colorado. Over time, he expanded his reach, racing in surrounding states and consistently finding success. In 2023, he took on a new challenge, venturing East for the first time, where he competed in the Western Conference Finals (WCF), Eastern Conference Finals (ECF), and the prestigious Christmas on the Coast (COTC).

The past year has been a breakout season for Scholtz, with multiple victories solidifying his status as one of the sport’s top young competitors. His highlights include:

2024 7.90 Track Championship at Julesburg
Multiple podium points finishes at Bandimere Speedway
Big-money wins throughout the season
Winning the $20K Main Event at COTC
Being crowned the DragChamp 2024 13-15 Year Old Racer of the Year

Now, with DragChamp’s Car of the Month honor, Scholtz and his Mike Bos Jr. Dragster continue to gain well-deserved recognition. As he looks ahead to another season of competition, there’s no doubt that Scholtz’s name will remain at the forefront of junior drag racing.
