Cook Cashes in for $30K at Star Spangled Banger

Sullivan, Cook, Ford, and Stellato captured wins at the Lawrence Motorsports Star Spangled Banger at Darana Raceway- Xenia, Ohio.

XENIA, OH- Banger Bracket Races held the Lawrence Motorsports.com Star Spangled Banger on July 10-12, 2026, at Darana Raceway in Xenia, Ohio. The event featured twin $10,000-to-win races on Friday and Sunday, along with a $20,000-to-win main event on Saturday. Junior Dragsters were also on the schedule, competing for $750-to-win each day. Weather created challenges throughout the weekend, but despite several schedule changes, racers and fans alike enjoyed another successful Banger Bracket Races event.

Friday $10K

Friday began with a time trial for all racers before competition got underway in the $10,000 main event. Several rounds were completed before rain brought the action to a halt, forcing the remainder of the race to roll over to Saturday.

Saturday’s priority was finishing Friday’s $10,000 race, and racers made significant progress before weather once again interrupted the action. Despite the delays, officials were able to complete the race Saturday night.

Ken Sullivan defeated Kurt Harrington in the final round to claim the victory in Friday’s $10,000 race. Charlie Polly was the semifinalist. All three drivers put together impressive performances, especially with the race being contested over two days due to weather delays.

Saturday/ Sunday Combined $30K

Once racing resumed on Saturday, officials made the decision to combine the Saturday and Sunday events, with both G2G Heavy Duty Parts races now paying $30,000 to the winner. First round and the re-entry round were completed on Saturday before the remainder of the race was carried over to Sunday.

Sunday morning welcomed racers with beautiful weather and a full day of competition. In the $30,000 main event, Taylor Cook turned on all the win lights, defeating Anthony Trauth after Trauth red-lit in the final round. Brandon Waack was the semifinalist.

Junior Dragster Race #1

In the first Axer Performance Junior Dragster race, Myles Ford defeated Kaiden Travis in the final round to earn the victory. McKenzie Kipp was the semifinalist.
