Gary Don Free is a lifelong drag racer with victories in bracket racing and at the NHRA national event level. Prior to graduating from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Gary Don spent eight years running an automotive machine shop with his father. After graduation, Gary Don moved into the corporate world where he spent the last 20 years in senior management positions with a variety of companies from large privately held companies to Fortune 500 companies. The skills he learned on the track, in the shop, and in the corporate world are applied to DragChamp.com to promote sportsman drag racing.
Paige Hamlin | Social Media & Business Development
Paige has been involved in drag racing since she was one month old. Most weekend’s you’ll find her at a racetrack footbraking her S-10 truck. When she’s not racing, Paige operates South Central Drag Racing and Big Check Bracket Racing. Both of which help promote bracket racing events. She also finds time to write articles for racetracks and websites. Paige will be attending a number of big dollar bracket races this season. Her blogs will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the racers, tracks, and promoters from these events.
Payton Cusimano | Writer
Payton Cusimano is a 20-year-old bracket racer from Venice, Florida. She races a S-10 truck in Pro at the local tracks around her home state. She is a student at the University of Tampa and is currently working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations and Advertising. She will be graduating December 2020. After graduation, Payton plans to attend more big money bracket races and find a career possibly in motorsports public relations. Her dad races a drag bike and has helped her become the racer she is today. Payton is also the owner and creator of the female motorsports association, Chicks on Slicks.

Megan Strassweg is a 21 year old Super Comp racer from Louisville, Kentucky. She races a 2015 American Dragster sponsored by Coolshirt Systems. Megan is a student at Western Kentucky University and is pursuing a degree in Photojournalism with plans to graduate in May 2020. Megan works at Jim Butner Auto in the Finance Department. Growing up at the racetrack, drag racing is all she has known and never plans to give up on it.
Chase Huffman | Racer Blog
Chase Huffman comes from a strong racing family background. His dad started drag racing in the eighties and Chase followed in his footsteps. At just eight years old, Huffman climbed into a junior dragster and has since spent most weekends at the track with family and friends. At 16, Chase moved into the big cars and continued to pursue his passion. Chase, a national event winner, currently competes in NHRA Division 4 Super Comp and Super Street.

Born and raised in Colorado, Kris Whitfield is a 29 year old, 21 year drag racing veteran. He attended his first race in Amarillo, Texas at just 3 weeks old and has been involved in the sport ever since. Kris began racing juniors at age 8 and currently pilots a 2004 Undercover dragster and a ’27 T Super Gas roadster. He has 16 track championships as well as 2 NHRA national event wins at his home track, Bandimere Speedway. Kris and his family travel throughout the racing season for bracket races across the country and have cashed in at acclaimed races such as the Spring Fling in Las Vegas and the Summer Send-off in Salt Lake City.
