9/20/23 – Welcome to the DragChamp Jr. Racer Top 10 List presented by Laris Motorsports Insurance. Each week we rank the best Jr. racers across the country based on their weekly performances. Nominations are accepted every Monday evening on our Facebook page.

DragChamp Jr. Racer Top 10 List

1 – Bentley Wright

Bentley Wright takes the #1 spot on the Jr. Racer Top 10 List this week after winning three times in two weeks. After winning in Mobile a week ago, Bentley won twice over the weekend at Gulfport Dragway to earn the top spot. Bentley is also the 2023 track champion at Mobile.

2 – Grayson Herbert 

Grayson Herbert takes the #2 spot this week after racing to three finals at Gulfport Dragway. Herbert won twice on Saturday and runnered-up on Sunday.

3 – Josiah Varner

Josiah Varner sits in the three spot this week after posting three final round appearances in the last two weekends. After a runner-up finish a week ago in Florida, Varner posted a win and a runner-up at Gulfport this past weekend. His performance at Gulfport earned him the track championship.

4 – Luke Hutchinson

Luke Hutchinson goes back-to-back to earn a Top 10 showing this week. Hutchinson posted wins at the NHRA National Open at Carolina Dragway and Galot on consecutive weekends to earn the #4 spot.

5 – Kane Kern

DragChamp Pro member Kane Kern sits in the five spot this week after posting three consecutive final round finishes. This past weekend Kane won the 13&up class at Gulfport which was his third straight final in three different states! It’d be safe to say no Jr racer travels as much as Kane and his dad.

6 – Gavin Jones

Gavin Jones earns a Top 10 spot after posting a win and a semifinal finish at the IHRA Team Finals at Holly Springs.

7 – Gillian Mattera

Gillian Mattera collected her second WDRA rod trophy of the season when she won the WDRA finals at Keystone Raceway. Mattera’s victory comes on the heels of a semifinal finish a week earlier and a victory two weeks prior to that.

7 – Aarod Kennedy

Aaron Kennedy’s victory at SGMP last weekend pushed him to the track championship! A week ago he made the semifinals in Gainesville to come up just short of the track championship there.

8 – Malaniah Wasso

Malaniah Wasso has been to four straight finals only to come up short each time. Her four final round appearances have come at three different tracks.

9 – Dave Leonard Jr.

Dave Leonard Jr. posted a win and a semifinal finish at the IHRA Finals at Holly Springs to earn a Top 10 showing.

10 – Rori Wells

Rori Wells closes out the Jr. Top 10 List this week after racing to a runner-up and a semifinal finish at the King of the Coast race at Gulfport Dragway.
