12/9/20 – Welcome to the DragChamp 2020 Jr. Racer 6-9 Year Old Top 10 List. This week we rank the best 6-9 Year Old racers in the country and crown the 2020 6-9 Year Old Jr. Racer of the Year!

DragChamp 2020 Jr. Racer 6-9 Year Old Top 10 List

1 – Camden Teel

The “Hulk” Camden Teel is the DragChamp 2020 Jr. 6-9 Year Old Racer of the Year! Camden traveled the country this year racing from Vegas to the Carolina’s. Along the way he four Wally’s against the best racers in the country. On the West Coast, Teel collected Wally’s at the Division 7 races in Tucson and Las Vegas along with a Gamblers race win in Vegas. He added a semifinal finish at the Division 7 ET Finals.

Camden picked up two race wins and a runner-up at the Western Conference Finals before adding a semifinal finish at the ECF. Other race wins came at both the Midwest and Southwest Jr. Series, the Windmill Nationals, Tulsa, and Ardmore. Congrats to our 6-9 2020 Champion!

2 – Corey Reed

Corey Reed grabs the two spot in our year end Top 10 after winning 13 of 15 finals on the season. Reed won two Wally’s in the NHRA Division 2 national open series, won the Atlanta track championship, finished second at Silver Dollar Raceway, and third in the Division 2 points. His latest victory was an 11.90 Index victory at Rockingham last week.

3 (tie) – Brylea Tilson

Brylea Tilson, a regular fixture on the Top 10 List this season, locked in the three spot after making 15 final round appearances in her rookie season. Tilson won two NHRA.tv JDRL Wally races at Ardmore and Paris, TX, was the Thunder Valley track champion, and was third in Ardmore points. Other highlights included semifinal appearances at the WCF and the NHRA Division 4 ET Finals.

3 (tie) – Hunter Sanders

“lil whomp whomp” enjoyed an outstanding Rookie season winning nine times in fourteen finals! Hunter Sanders, who made the last three Top 10 Lists, biggest weekend came recently where he swept the weekend at Cherokee Raceway winning all three days!

4 – Parker Richey

Parker Richey secured a Top 5 position in the season ending list after winning five times in ten finals on the season. Richey, won the Southwest Jr. Dragster series 11.90 Index championship and the IHRA Division 4 6-9 Championship. He added a runner-up finish at the NHRA Division 4 ET Finals as well as a couple of runner-up finishes in Wally races at Ardmore and Thunder Valley in Oklahoma.

5 – Nash Rachford

Nash Rachford rounds out the Top 5 for the 2020 season after winning the 13.90 Index class at both the Western Conference Finals and the Eastern Conference Finals! In the 13.90 Index class he only lose one round the entire year! This included winning three of four Midwest Jr. Super Series Index races.

6 – Victoria Beaner

Victoria Beaner competed in 16 final rounds during the 2020 racing season. Over the last couple of weeks Victoria picked up two wins and a runner-up at Bradenton and Orlando! The 2020 NHRA Division 2 Race of Champions winner also won the Orlando track championship and finished third in the Bradenton points series.

7 – Carson Wied

Seven year old Carson Wied enjoyed a successful season winning Midwest Jr. Super Series championships in the 13.90 Index and ProSportsman classes. He also won the NHRA Division 3 Junior Finals, the Junior Nationals at Cordova, and added a $5,000 victory at the Garrett Shankle Memorial Race.

8 (tie) – Slade Olinde

Slade Olinde dominated the 7-9 class at State Capitol Raceway in Baton Rouge. The talented racer went undefeated in six races to claim the 11.90 Track Championship. Olinde added an IHRA Ironman trophy and a third place finish in the Advanced class to wrap up a great season.

8 (tie) – Blaine Denunzio

Blaine Denunzio, the 2020 NHRA Division 7 champion, won four Wally’s this season. He added another win and four runner-up finishes while winning the Barona Track Championship. Blaine also had to overcome having his racing operation stolen this year. Eventually the car and trailer were recovered so he could continue racing.

9 – Forrest Radford

Forrest Radford landed in the nine spot based on winning his third consecutive DER Series championship at Bristol Dragway. Radford won the championship this year handedly posting a 13 round lead over the second place finisher. He added a Wally to the trophy case, a Shootout win at Farmington, and posted a runner-up finish at the NHRA Division 2 Race of Champions.

10 (tie) – Lawson Scott

Lawson Scott won three series championships to earn his way into the 2020 6-9 Top 10 List. Scott won the 7-9 championships at the Win More at Atmore series, the 7-9 Summit ET series championship at Gulport as well as the 7-9 King of the Coast championship. Lawson collected victories at Atmore, Gulfport, Emerald Coast, and Montgomery in 2020.

10 (tie) – Tyler Nunez

Tyler Nunez competed in the NHRA Division 2 LODRS for the first time in 2020. He proceeded to make five final rounds appearances in six races to earn the season championship. In the process, Nunez won three Wally’s, multiple local race wins, and a semifinal finish at the ECF.
