Racers Cash in at the 2 For 1 on the Bayou Presented by CP Promotions

CP Promotions crowned eight deserving winners this past weekend at the 2 For 1 on the Bayou at State Capitol Raceway.

BATON ROGUE, LA- The CP Promotion’s 2 For 1 on the Bayou took place April 23-25, 2021 at State Capitol Raceway in Louisiana. The event featured three chances at $10,000 in the Box class and three chances at $5,000 in No Box. This race was also unique because when you bought one entry, you automatically got another free. Saturday night also featured an additional Box and No Box shootout.

In a Facebook post, promoter, Cody Pollage said, “I have to thank the crew at State Capitol Raceway for busting their tail all weekend. Special thanks goes out to my extended crew: Frank Kohutek, Jennifer Johnson, Joel Boyd, and Ryan Gleghorn. Special thanks also goes out to R&M Trailers, and Cargo Mate for their continued support of our 2021 season”.

Friday Results


In Box, they got down to three cars, when the rains hit. David Hammons, Tommy Castanedo, and Brittany Ezell LeJeune were the last three cars remaining.

In No Box, at three cars, Stuart Olinde was sitting on the bye, and also had to run Roger Marcombe. Roger turned it red which allowed Stuart to capture both winner and runner-up honors.

Saturday Results


The rains came in overnight Friday, and into the early Saturday morning hours. Track was dried, re-prepped, and they went racing. In Box, Wayne Henry defeated Cole Cummings.

In No Box on Saturday, Robby Mullins defeated Wyatt Sproles in the final round.

Box Shootout

Jesse Marceaux picked up the win over Slate Cummings in the Box Shootout final.

Sunday Results


On Sunday, David Nicholson took the final round win over David Hammons (by the way Hammons was footbraking on the top all weekend).

In No Box, Roger Marcomb, who had to run himself in the semi-final round, defeated Kayden Hayman in the final.

In a Facebook post, CP Promotions said, “We would like to thank everybody that came out this weekend, and trusted us to get all 3 days in with the forecast the way it was. We appreciate”.

The next CP Racing Promotions event will be the Bottom Bulb 120 off I-20, at Twin City Raceway, in Monroe, LA, on May 14-16, 2021.
