Team Bertozzi Sweeps VMP Triple Threat Mega Bucks

Anthony Bertozzi & Johnny Labbous carried their team to 2 wins & 1 runner-up over the weekend at the VMP Tripe Threat Mega Bucks event.

NORTH DINWIDDIE, VA – Team Bertozzi carried their team to the winners circle not once, or twice, but THREE times over the weekend at the Virginia Motorsports Park. Anthony Bertozzi picked up the Friday $30,000 win and the Sunday $30,000 runner-up, while Johnny Labbous picked up the Saturday $75,000 win to make for a pretty big weekend for the team.

The VMP crew fought crazy high temperatures and some rain storms, but were able to finish on Sunday evening.

Wednesday

In quite possibly one of the most memorable final rounds of the weekend, Stevie Dustin defeated Allison Lloyd in the Super64 Shootout final round to pick up the win. Dustin was .012 total in the truck to make Lloyd mathematically ineligible. The final was dedicated to Sean Serra, who tragically lost his life just 2 weeks before in a car accident. Lloyd was Sean’s girlfriend, while Dustin was one of his great friends.

Marty Dadney and Steve Witherow were the semi-finalists.

Thursday

Cory Gulitti made another dedication to Sean Serra after visiting the winners circle for Thursday’s event. Gulitti defeated Nick Chiles in the final round. CHiles turned it -.002 to hand the win over to Gulitti.

RW Jordan was the semi-finalist.

Friday

Anthony Bertozzi picked up the $30,000 check after defeating Jamal Woolridge in the final round. Bertozzi had the starting line advantage, .017 to .031, and ran a 5.885 at 110 mph on his 5.87 dial-in.

Danny Mattera and Dink Holmes were the semi-finalists.

Saturday

Jonny Labbous took home the big $75,000 of the weekend after defeating Robbie Hamilton in the final round. Labbous had a huge starting line advantage, .000 to .029, and ran a 4.634 at 146 mph on his 4.61 dial-in.

Alan Glatt and Justin Adams were the semi-finalists.

The Bunch siblings battled it out in the Junior Dragster final round with Brooklyn coming out on top. Brooklyn was .018 total to pick up the win over Peyton who was mathematically ineligible.

Alyssa Tilghman was the semi-finalist.

Sunday

Alan Glatt defeated Anthony Bertozzi in the final round to pick up the last big check of the weekend. Glatt’s .012 total gave Bertozzi no chance who was .020 up front.

Greg Hicks was the semi-finalist.

CJ Jenkins defeated Louis Crockett in the final round to take home the big check. Jenkins had a slight starting line advantage, .035 to .039, and ran a 7.901 at 82 mph on his 7.90 dial-in.

John Krieger Jr. was the semi-finalist.

Megan Bohannon is a 25 year old Super Comp racer from Louisville, Kentucky. She races a 2015 American Dragster with a 648 Oakley Motorsports Engine. Growing up at the racetrack, drag racing is all she has known and never plans to give up on it.
