BOWLING GREEN, KY – Big bucks returned to Beech Bend Raceway Park over the weekend during the TwentyG@BG event. Track staff overcame interfering rain showers and were able to complete all scheduled races.
Friday and Sunday’s winners would earn $10,000 each while the winner on Sunday would take home $20,000 for their efforts. Car counts were solid weekend with 218 entries Friday, 208 entries Saturday, and 188 entries on Sunday.
Friday $10K Results
Jesse Bobo and Jason Lynch staged up in the first big money final of the weekend with $10,000 on the line Friday. Bobo is .002 at the hit and takes 5 thou at the finish line to take the win over Lynch who was .013 and one above his dial.
Jake Hodge and Edmond Richardson were Friday’s semifinalists.
Saturday $20K Results
The final four drivers to remain in Saturday’s $20K were Chad May, Nick Ross, Dave Angelly, and Jesse Bobo.
Angelly is .009 on the tree and runs dead on with a seven to leave Ross’ .020 reaction time mathematically ineligible. May turns on the red bulb while Bobo runs dead on his dial to advance into another final round.
The $20,000 winner was decided on the starting line as Angelly lets go .004 red while Bobo is .021 green to pick up his second win of the weekend.
Sunday $10K Results
The last day of racing began to wind down with three semifinalists: Taylor Bowling, Hal Blevins, and Bryson Scruggs.
Both drivers run one above their respective dial ins but Blevins’ .009 light gives him the winning edge over Scruggs. Bowling earned the bye run and coasts into the final round.
Bowling and Blevins put on an impressive show during Sunday’s $10,000 finale! Blevins is .010 and breaks out 1 thou but is still .009 behind at the stripe.
Bowling lets go .000 and runs 6.441 off his 6.44 dial, laying down .001 total and earning $10K! It’s also worth noting that this weekend was the first time Bowling drove the rent-a-ride Mustang that belongs to Lucas Walker.
