Junior DragChamp Spotlight with Cole Foster
This week’s DragChamp Jr. Racer Spotlight is all about the 10-12 year old SouthWest Junior Dragster Series Champion, Cole Foster.
DAYTON, TX- Cole Foster has been racing for four years now and was introduced to the sport by his father. His father asked him one day if he had an interest in Junior Drag Racing and the rest is history. His father purchased a starter car for him and started practicing in the school parking lot. Eventually, they made it out to the track to make some full runs and he made it to third round his first time out. At that point, he was hooked.
Cole just recently finished his last year in the 8.90 class and will be moving up into 7.90 this season. He mainly races in Texas with Houston Raceway Park being their home track. He also follows the SouthWest Junior Dragster Series.

His Dragster
His current ride is a 2019 Halfscale that they bought in October of 2019. It currently has a 3.5″ Craws ZR4 onboard that is maintained by Mr. Jim Rogers.
Besides Cole’s driving duties, he also helps maintain his car. After each run he is responsible for re-fueling and checking tire pressures. Although his crew chief, A.K.A his dad does most of the work on the car, Cole does jump in a help when he can.

Favorite Win and Future Goals
Although the American Junior Dragster Challenge was exciting to be apart of, he said that he is most proud of winning the bracket 330 race in San Antonio this past year. Until this year, he has never done very well in bracket 330 and he won the race against the 2020 Drag Champ Driver of the Year Graeme Rufenacht. Winning this race also completed his goal to win in all four major races held by SouthWest Junior Dragster Series. Index, Age Group, Bracket 330 and All Run Big Money!
Before aging out of Junior Dragsters, he would like the opportunity to win at the Conference Finals. He has also started building an S10 with his father that should be done before the end of the year.
