Racers Cash In at King of the Coast Event 5
Fourteen racers captured wins at the BTE King of the Coast Bracket Racing Series presented by David McMurtry Racing Event #5 at Gulfport Dragway.
GULFPORT, MS- The BTE King of the Coast Bracket Racing Series presented by David McMurtry Racing held their Event #5 September 16-18, 2022 at Gulfport Dragway. Over 250 entries were on the grounds to compete for the $20,000 weekend purse as the 2022 KOC Championship Points Chase hits the home stretch. The weekend featured numerous classes including: Electronics, Footbrake, Sportsman, and Junior Dragster categories. In addition, there was also a Turkey Beach Bash Electronics and an Alabama Two Step/ Footbrake 150 Footbrake Gamblers Race on Friday night.
Event #6 will be November 4-6, 2022 at Gulfport Dragway.

Friday Results
Turkey Beach Bash Electronics Gamblers
Good friends, Todd Nations & David Hammons battled it out on Friday night during the Turkey Beach Bash 16-Car Electronics Shootout. Nations claimed the final round win and earned himself a Turkey Beach Bash Entry and buybacks for the event. Hammons, who was the runner-up won a Turkey Beach Bash entry as well.
Tristian Sholar and Nathan Lachney were the semi-finalists.

Alabama 2 Step/ Footbrake 150 Footbrake Gamblers
Gene Schmaltz picked up the Friday night 16-Car Footbrake Gamblers Race win over Robby Mullins. Schmaltz earned an entry into the Alabama Two Step and Mullins won a 2021 Footbrake 150 entry for his runner-up finish.
Dan Campton and Danny Paul were the semi-finalists.

Saturday Results
Rick’s Powdercoating Electronics
Tristian Sholar earned himself the $6,000 Electronics win on Saturday night. Steven Barnett was the runner-up finisher.


Alliance Race Wear Footbrake
In Saturday’s Footbrake class, Robby Mullins claimed the final round win over Thomas Holley.

Velocity Racing Carbs Sportsman
Carl Schaefer picked up the Saturday Sportsman win over Johnathan Hardy.


S&W Powersports Jr Dragster
Pearce Automotive 13-17
Rylee Wells earned the Pearce Automotive 13-17 Year Old Junior Dragster win on Saturday. Ryan Alexander was the runner-up.

Bone Shaker Motorsports 10-12
In the Saturday Bone Shaker 10-12 Year Old Junior Dragster class, Stumpman drove to victory over Linly Hatcher.


Berry Performance 7-9
Grayson Herbert was the Barry Performance Saturday 7-9 Year Old Junior Dragster winner. Kylie Ortego was the runner-up in the final.

In Sunday’s Electronics class, Saturday’s runner-up, Steven Barnett captured the win over Wes Neely.


Alliance Race Wear Footbrake
In Sunday’s Footbrake class, Tim Pace claimed the final round win over Thomas Holley.

Velocity Racing Carbs Sportsman
Jerry Rogers was the Sunday Sportsman winner. He picked up the final round win over Jimmy Cox.


S&W Powersports Jr Dragster
Pearce Automotive 13-17
In Sunday’s Pearce Automotive 13-17 Year Old Junior Dragster class, Ryan Alexander captured the final round win over Zack Pearce.


Bone Shaker Motorsports 10-12
Stumpman strikes again in the Bone Shaker Motorsports 10-12 Year old class on Sunday. This time, he earned the final round win over Gavin Sharp.


Berry Performance 7-9
In Sunday’s Berry Performance 7-9 Year Old class, Charlie “Choo” Rentrop picked up the final round win over Kylie Ortego.


David McMurtry Racing Engines/ Three Oaks Farms Perfect Run
Lane Comeaux earned a $500 bonus for his perfect run.
