Joe Barush Claims $100,000 Payday at VMP Triple Threat

Joe Barush was crowned the $100,000 champion on Sunday afternoon at Virginia Motorsports Park at their Triple Threat Bracket Series event.

NORTH DINWIDDIE, VA – The second event of the 2023 Triple Threat Bracket Series concluded over the weekend at Virginia Motorsports Park where racers battled for their chance at 30-75-30, and a $10K warm-up on Thursday. The weekend had a great turnout where several racers visited the winners circle.

Due to weather, the team at VMP combined Saturday and Sunday to make it $100,000 to win.

Joe Barush headlined the weekend after parking it in the winners circle on Sunday afternoon for $100,000.

Triple Threat Bracket Series Results


Kyle Hustwayte picked up the first trophy of the weekend as the In-Motions Solutions $10K Warm-Up Champion after defeating Donovan Williams in the final round. Hustwayte laid down a perfect run to head to the winner’s circle!


Chris Ferguson picked up the trophy and the big check in the final round of McCarty Auto Parts Friday.


Joe Barush dominated the field to take home the $100,000 big check and trophy on Fueltech / O’Reilly Auto Parts Saturday. Barush defeated Troy Williams to visit the winners circle.

The two junior dragster winners were Will Dotson and Peyton Bunch.

Megan Bohannon is a 26 year old Super Comp racer from Louisville, Kentucky. She races a 2015 American Dragster with a 648 Oakley Motorsports Engine. Growing up at the racetrack, drag racing is all she has known and never plans to give up on it.
