TJ Harper Cashes Out at VMP’s Triple Threat Series

TJ Harper was crowned the $20,000 champion on Saturday night at Virginia Motorsports Park at their Triple Threat Bracket Series event.

NORTH DINWIDDIE, VA – The first event of the 2023 Triple Threat Bracket Series concluded over the weekend at Virginia Motorsports Park where racers battled for their chance at 10-20-10. The weekend had a great turnout where several racers visited the winners circle.

TJ Harper headlined the weekend after parking it in the winners circle on Saturday evening for $20,000. Sunday was unfortunately cut short due to rain.

Triple Threat Bracket Series Results

Thursday

Ty Casey picked up the first trophy of the weekend as the Super64 Champion after defeating Kendall Payne in the final round. Casey was .005 up front and ran a 4.719 on the dial-in to visit the winners circle.

RW Jordan and Jonathan Edwards were the semi-finalists.

Friday

Jon Corbin defeated Steve Witherow in the final round of McCarty Auto Parts Friday to pick up the trophy and the big check. Corbin was .010 up front and ran a 5.725 at 118 mph on his 5.71 dial-in.

Semi-finalist was John Goodman.

Saturday

TJ Harper dominated the field to take home the $20,000 big check and trophy on Fueltech Saturday. Harper defeated Kevin Pollard to visit the winners circle after Pollard turned it -.001. Harper was .001 on the green side and coasted across the stripe.

Semi-finalists were Steve Witherow and Josh Wilkinson.

Shannon Woodring picked up the Footbrake 48 win over Mike Hall in the final round. Woodring was .045 up front and ran a 6.174 at 109 mph on her 6.17 dial-in

Luke Miller was the semi-finalist.

Megan Strassweg

Megan Bohannon is a 25 year old Super Comp racer from Louisville, Kentucky. She races a 2015 American Dragster with a 648 Oakley Motorsports Engine. Growing up at the racetrack, drag racing is all she has known and never plans to give up on it.
