DragChamp Top 10 List
1 – Brian Yerger Jr.
18 year old Brian Yerger Jr. made WFC history Saturday night when he drove Ernie Humes’ Mustang to victory at the BTE Labor Day 250K. Yerger, became the youngest winner in WFC history when he captured the $100K payday. The kid was a beast in Juniors and it looks like he’s gonna be a force in big cars as well.
2 – Lil Phil Combs
Lil Phil Combs had a big weekend at London Dragway. Combs won Friday and Sunday and added a $2K Gamblers runner-up to his main event wins. He wasn’t the only Combs that found success at London as his dad and brother met in the MOD final round Saturday night.
3 – Zach Meziere
Zach Meziere grabs the three spot this week after doubling up at the NHRA Division 6 ET Finals. Meziere drove to wins in the Race of Champions and the ET Finals main event earning a trip to Pomona to compete for the national championship.
4 – Jason Padd
DragChamp Pro member Jason Padd had a huge weekend at RAD Torque Raceway. Padd collected a runner-up in Saturday’s $25K and then found himself in the finals again on Sunday. In Sunday’s $25K final, Padd defeated a redlighting Chevy Reeves to win the all DragChamp Pro final round when Reeves let go trip zip red.
5 – Mike Willi
Mike Willi outlasted a big field at the $40 Grand Nationals in Norwalk to capture the $40,000 payday.
5 – Ray Gaetz
Ray Gaetz crushed it at RAD Torque Raceway over the last two weekends. A week ago Gaetz was in the winners circle and he continued his run a week later taking home $25,000 on Saturday. He returned on Sunday to take the King of the Track title earning his second Wally of the weekend.
5 – JP Schuster
JP Schuster closed out the $40 Grand Nationals with a big $20,000 victory on Sunday to grab a Top 5 spot.
5 – Shannon Gilmore
Shannon Gilmore went back-to-back at London Dragway on Friday and Saturday to earn a Top 10 showing. Gilmore won the Gamblers race on Friday and followed with a $10K victory on Saturday.
6 – Nick Engler
6 – Josh VanHorne
Josh VanHorne is on a hot streak that includes five finals in the last five weeks. Vanhorne’s streak has included running five different classes at three different tracks in the same car.
7 – Jason Kenny
Jason Kenny sits in the lucky seven spot this week after making his third NHRA National event final in the last 2 weeks. After earning runner-up finishes in Super Gas and Super Comp at the New England Nationals, Kenny raced to a Super Comp runner-up yesterday at the NHRA U.S. Nationals.
7 – Heinz Haller
Heinz Haller picked up two No-Box wins and a MOD runner-up at Mid Michigan Motorplex over the Labor Day weekend to lock in a Top 10 spot.
8 – Jonathan Maugans
Bottom Bulb racer and race promoter Jonathan Maugans doubled up in Top and No-Box at Mid America Dragway to land in the #8 spot this week.
8 – Reid Ricketson
Reid Ricketson swept the No-Box class at Empire Dragway to earn his first Top 10 showing.
8 – Bryan Walker
Byran Walker doubled up in No-Box at Mid America this past weekend. He was looking for a three-peat until he ran into Jonathan Maugans late in Sunday’s race.
8 – David Myhre
David Myhre earns a Top 10 spot this week after winning on back-to-back weekends. After winning $10K at the Nightfire Nationals, Myhre picked up a win at Sonoma this past weekend.
9 – Connor Caulder
Connor Caulder found success at the Rock winning a $5K on Saturday and adding a $5K runner-up on Monday. He also went deep in Sunday’s $10K.
9 – Jonathan Martin
Jonathan Martin made two finals at Virginia Motorsports Park taking a $5k victory Saturday and a runner-up on Sunday.
9 – Jesse Dobson
Jesse Dobson picked up a win and a runner-up at Hi-Line Dragway to earn his first Top 10 showing.
10 – Jacob Prewitt
Jacob Prewitt enjoyed a successful weekend at the BTE $250K after winning Friday’s $10K. He then proceeded to post late round finishes on Saturday and Sunday where he made it to 11 cars both days to cap off a great weekend.
10 – Justin “Skirt” Vickers
Justin “Skirt” Vickers sits in the ten spot this week after posting a $40K runner-up and semifinal showing in Sunday’s $20K at Summit Motorsports Park.
10 – Allen Owens
Allen Owens closes out the Top 10 List this week after posting runner-up finishes in a $10K and a $7,500 Shootout at London Dragway.
