07/225/20 – There was a ton of drag racing this past weekend as the NHRA held a double at National Trail Raceway with the Division 3 LODRS race and the JEGS SPORTSnationals. On the bracket racing side, big money races were held in Texas, Canada, Maryland, and Alabama. Even the Juniors were active this week as the ECF took place in Charlotte. We’ve tallied the weekend race results and ranked the top performers for you.

DragChamp Top 10 List – 07/22/20
1 – Anthony Bertozzi
AB grabs the top spot this week after a big weekend in Ohio. Anthony started the weekend with a runner-up effort to the reigning World Champ Danny Nelson in the Division 3 Lucas Oil Series event. He finished the weekend by collecting the Top Dragster title at the JEGS SPORTSnationals. The win made Anthony the most successful racer in the history of the event with five victories! In addition, AB is now the runaway points leader in the Top Dragster national standings after making the final round in four of his last five outings and three straight.
2 (tie) – Jeff Taylor
Jeff Taylor continues to rack up huge wins. The last year has been good to the fast bracket racer as he’s won a $50K SFG event and doubled at a Lucas Oil Series race. His $20,000 victory at the Jim Harrington Memorial this weekend added to an already impressive resume.
2 (tie) – Bob Kolibsky
Like Taylor, Bob Kolibsky cashed for $20,000 at the Jim Harrington Memorial Classic. The huge victory locked down the 2 spot for Kolibsky this week.
3 (tie) – Cory Gulitti
3 (tie) – Chris “BoyBaby” Jones
Chris “BoyBaby” Jones dominated the Box class on Saturday night to park his dragster on the dance floor at the Under the Lights race in Texas. Jones was killer throughout the night to collect the $15,000 payday!
4 (tie) – Mike Barber
Mike Barber lands in the four spot this week after earning a $20,000 victory and a $5K runner-up at the Independence Showdown at Maple Grove two weeks ago. At the Jim Harrington Memorial, Barber was down to 10 cars on Saturday before taking two entries to the quarters on Sunday. Although he reached the final on Sunday, he couldn’t make the call after a cracked front wheel stopped him. An impressive run over the last two weeks!
4 (tie) – Brian Acker
Brian Acker secured a Top 5 spot this week after doubling up at the Bracket Super Tour race at ICAR in Cananda. Acker won the Saturday $6K before returning on Sunday to collect a $5K payday.
4 (tie) – Adam Davis
AD has been, well, AD lately. After a semifinal finish at the WFC, Adam has won 22 consecutive rounds. This included a win last weekend along with a double over this past weekend at Baileyton where he ran himself in the Footbrake final round.
5 (tie) – Mark Smith
Mark Smith enjoyed a successful SPEEDweek at National Trail Raceway. Smith made both Super Street finals earning a runner-up on Friday at the divisional and picking up the Wally on Sunday at the JEGS SPORTSnationals.
5 (tie) – Cameron Fulfer
Cameron Fulfer slayed the No-Box class on Friday at the Under the Lights race at the Texas Motorplex. The talented Footbrake racer ran himself in the semifinals before ultimately winning the $7,500 final over Aaron Jones.
6 (tie) – Graeme Rufenacht
Graeme is quickly becoming the energizer bunny as he keeps winning, and winning, and winning. For the 12th consecutive race weekend, #Gman drove to a final round. He’s latest accomplishments came at the ECF and Ardmore Dragway. Graeme won the 9-round, 184 entry Gamblers race on Tuesday at zMAX. He and his father then drove to Ardmore Dragway where Graeme picked up the Wally in race #1 and made the semifinals in race #2. Recently Graeme won his 100th career race.
6 (tie) – Robbie Hamilton
Robbie Hamilton secured his spot in the Top 10 after winning the Super 64 Shootout race at the Jim Harrington Memorial Classic. The win netted Robbie a cool $12,000!
7 (tie) – Dylan Hite
Dylan Hite parked his junior on the dance floor for the third consecutive week. The run began with a win at Atmore, a $5K win in Missouri, and winning his age group at the Eastern Conference Finals.
7 (tie) – Brian Yerger Jr.
Brian Yerger Jr. makes the list on the strength of his recent final round finishes at Mooresville, Farmington, and Wilkesboro. In the last two weeks Brian has a win and a runner-up at two different tracks.
8 (tie) – Erica Baker
Erica Baker made her trip to the 10G at BG pay off after collecting at $10 grand paycheck!
8 (tie) – Jesse Bobo
Jesse Bobo also collected $10 grand at Bowling Green over the weekend.
9 – Corey Wood
Corey Wood has been on a run lately. He picked up the Super Pro at Beacon a week ago and followed that with a win in Pro and a runner-up in Super Pro at World Wide Technology Raceway the past weekend.
10 (tie) – Aaron Jones
Aaron Jones secured a Top 10 spot this week after a two final weekend at two different tracks. Jones began the weekend with a runner-up to Cameron Fulfer in the No-Box class on Friday night at the Texas Motorplex. He then drove to Ardmore Dragway on Saturday for their Wally race were he once again came up one win light short. An impressive performance against some tough competition.
10 (tie) – Tripp & Bug McCarty
The McCarty family enjoyed a special weekend at the Glenn Smith race at Montgomery. On Saturday, Tripp earned his first big car win after driving his Camaro to the $5K Super Pro victory over Sherman Adcock. On Sunday, the wins kept coming for McCarty family as it was Tripp’s dad Bug who would find the winners circle. Bug took the win the Super Pro while also collecting a runner-up finish in No-Box.
Kade Renoll earns a shout out this week after driving from one coast to another to compete in the Eastern Conference finals. The West Coast racer drove 2,200 miles to get to zMax where he made the trip worth it by winning the 12 year old championship. DragChamp congratulates all of the ECF winners!
Hunter Whitehead earned a special shout out for his final round performance at Baileyton the Goodtime on Saturday. In the $2K final, Whitehead left perfect and took nothing to go dead zero for the perfect lap and the W! Triple zero, take triple zero, to be dead zero is a pretty cool lap, especially in the final!
