Foley Cashes in at Firecracker Bracket Nationals

Doug Foley Jr. had a whirlwind of a weekend, taking a runner-up finish in the first $30,000 race on Friday and winning the $130,000 race on Sunday.

BYRON, IL – Byron Dragway swung the gates open this weekend for the 23rd Annual Firecracker Bracket Nationals. Leading the leaderboard was no other than Doug Foley Jr. after nearly sweeping the entire weekend and leaving with a runner-up finish and a win.

Racers ran for $30,000 on Friday, and due to rain on Saturday the purse was combined on Sunday to make it a total of $130,000.

23rd Annual Firecracker Bracket Nationals

Friday

Shane Pope drove his Pinto to the winners circle after defeating Doug Foley Jr. in the final round. Pope has been very successful in his Pinto, already capturing a $10,000 win on Memorial Day weekend and now cashing in for $30,000!

Sunday

Doug Foley Jr. decided a runner-up finish wasn’t enough and drove the Gulitti-owned dragster to the winners circle after defeating Randall Folk in the final round for $130,000.

Foley has made his presence known each time he rolls in the gate at Byron Dragway, having won the $30,000 Friday night title at the 20th Annual Firecracker Bracket Nationals in 2019.
