DragChamp Top 10 List
1 – Champ
Stephen “Champ” McCrory grabs the #1 spot after his Great American USA500K main event win! Champ drove his 7-second Firebird, the slowest car in the field, past the best big money bracket racers in the country to claim the $500K payday. McCrory defeated Will Holloman in the final round.
2 – Curt Harvey
DragChamp Pro member Curt Harvey absolutely destroyed the field in Montgomery last week. Beginning with the Sunday Mike Smith race, Harvey went 8 rounds. Wednesday at the USA500K, he was doubled at seven cars and runnered-up the $40K. Thursday he was doubled at 15 cars and won the $40K! In Friday’s 500K, Harvey laid down a 12-pack in round 5 to come up .001 short. He also went five rounds in Saturday’s $40K and was crowned the 500K MVP.
3 – Donnie Hagar
The 2023 OG Million winner Donnie Hagar posted another impressive outing, this time at the WDRA World Finals. His weekend included a $5K Gamblers win on Friday and a No-Box World Championship on Saturday!
4 – Timmy Smith
Timmy Smith grabs the #4 spot this week after making his second big money final round in the last week. Smith ended a dry spell by winning $30K at his dad’s memorial race a week ago. He returned to the finals last week at the GABR USA500K where he was runner-up in Saturday’s $40K.
5 – GABR USA500K $40K Winners
In addition to Curt Harvey, Nick Brener and Casey Prince also posted $40K victories last week at the GABR USA500K. Nick, aka Huggy Bear, grabbed the first $40K check of the week when he stopped Harvey in Wednesday’s final. Prince earned the last $40K victory of the week when he stopped Timmy Smith in Saturday’s $40K final.
6 – Tom Bayer
West Coast driving school instructor Tom Bayer sits in the #6 spot after collecting a $25,000 payday last Thursday at the West Coast Bracket Races West Coast Classic. Bayer won the 64-Car Shootout to earn the big check.
6 – Dave Meziere
Dave Meziere also won big at the West Coast Classic winning $20,000 in Saturday’s main event.
7 – Jonathan Martin
Jonathan Martin sits in the lucky seven spot after running himself in the finals at Kinston last weekend. The final was his 7th straight and he’s posted six victories in those finals!
8 – GABR USA500K Runner-Ups
In addition to Timmy Smith and Curt Harvey, Will Holloman and Troy Williams Jr. also made final round appearances at the USA500K. Willywood took home the second largest check of the week with his runner-up in the 500K main event. T-Rock came up one winlight short in Thursday’s $40K final against Curt Harvey.
9 – Kyle Cunningham
Kyle Cunningham enjoyed a successful weekend after posting a $5K victory Saturday night at Gleason Raceway Park. He headed home Sunday morning where he met his dad in a split & quit final at Centerville Dragway.
10 – Tim Klopfenstein
Tim Klopfenstein was on a heater at London Dragway last weekend. After winning Friday’s $5K, he posted a runner-up finish in Saturday’s $10K. Tim made 32 laps in three days.
10 – Chaysse Trimp
Chaysse Trimp closes out the Top 10 after posting a win and a runner-up at the West Coast Classic. Competing in the Pro class, Trimp was runner-up on Friday and grabbed the $7,500 payday on Saturday.
Brandon Cox drove his street car to two finals at the WDRA Finals. Cox was runner-up in Friday’s $5K Gamblers Race and also posted a runner-up finish in Saturday’s $10K main event.
Tim O’Moore posted two runner-up finishes on Saturday at the West Coast Bracket Races West Coast Classic. O’Moore was runner-up in Saturday’s $7,500 main event and also in the $10,000 Door Car Shootout.
